TRANSPORTATION ...YIKES

I do not live in New York but all the castings are in New York right?So i usually take AMTRAK and no I do not know anyone who works for AMTRAK.Its March 19th so taxes are due soon.As I sit here putting all my paperwork together, I was putting together all my transportation costs related to MODELING.Do you know in the year of 2011, I spent more than 700 DOLLARS on AMTRAK!!! THATS CRAZY!! NO wonder I was dirt broke last year.And I only booked one job last year.700+ photo shoots I had to pay for, plus other model related fees--- OH MY GOSH!!! Im nearing the $2,000 mark in terms of money I have spent.THAT IS CRAZY!!!! The cost is WAY WAY WAY TOO HIGH!! Boys and girls, modeling is so so so expensive.Ay, a poor African girl like me, wasting money like that?!?!? Um, no, NO more AMTRAK for now on.ONLY BUS. That will save me at least 600 dollars. I cant believe I spent that much money-- no wonder I didn't have any money last year. RIDICULOUS!!!

FFF Week 2012

Ok guys .My agent called me and told me that there will be an audition for Full Figured Fashion week in about 1.5 weeks- on March 31,2012. This is the casting to be in the official FULL FIGURED FASHION week. I attended this event last year and it was lots of fun. I was not a model in it( I missed the audition cuz I was in Ghana)but I really really enjoyed it.The first event I attended was the boat ride and that was lots of fun.i only knew like 2 people out of like 200 people, but it was okay,it allowed me to roam through the crowd freely-- no restrictions.I met Fluvia..she was ridiculously sweet.Shes from Brazil, just like my best friend.i met some photographers I met some reps from KMART, and of course the SONSI people were on the boat.And the organizer of the event, Ms. Gwen Devoe..it was a great event. I attended some pageant thing they threw and some other things. I also wrote an article about it for the AFRIKAN POST.. it was a great event.Therefore, I am quite thrilled to attend it again this year.But how cool would it be if I booked the show-- woah!! That would be a HUGE accomplishment--for me. What in the world am I going to wear to the casting?Only God knows!! The casting is the same weekend as New jersey fashion Week, and I planned on attending New Jersey Fashion week, so this is gonna be kinda tricky--attending both you know:) The only reason I wanted to attend New Jersey Fashion week is because Toccarra,Eric Benet, Lamman Rucker, and Music Soulchild are scheduled to be there.And Lammann Rucker is FINNNEE!!! I would be crazy NOT to go:).

March 12,2012-N.J FFFW

Last week, I traveled to New York to audition for the New Jersey Full figured fashion week.Auditions were held at the Madison PLus studio.Normally when i go to castings, I wear blue jeans, a black shirt and heels.But for Gods sake, everyone wears that .I dont understand why I should go to a casting looking and dressed like everyone else.so instead I decided to wear something totally different. I auditioned wearing a kente dress.Yep, thats right, i wore something African.its about time don't you think.When i got to the audition, I had to stand in the hallway and waited with a girl named Sally Anne.That girl was so sweet.Speaking of Sally anne, i need to find her number and give her a call.She said she was from FLAUNT Models.When it was my turn to enter the room, one black lady's mouth dropped-- she looked like she was disgusted by what I was wearing.Oh well. There was a guy, some more women and of course the beautiful and lovely AIMEE from MADISON PLUS. I really like that girl-she seems very genuine and real...plus she is a great dresser. They asked me if I had runway experience, took my comp card and asked me to do a half turn..What the hell is a half turn-- am i supposed to know what that is?I don't .so I made something else..ha hahaha, trust me, I was SO NOT impressive at all.BUt i think i looked nice but most importantly I felt good in my own skin.Will i get this job?i dont know.But i plan on being at this fashion event anyways to get coverage on it and to see what the show is like, so I will be there either way.
